Q: Does Underfloor Heating take long to heat up?

This depends on the depth and type of screed used by the standard 70mm sand cement screed should heat up from cold in 4-5 hrs. The temperature should then be maintained within about 5 degrees of the normal running temperature throughout the heating season and not be allowed cool fully

Q: What about leaks?

The system is pressured tested before screeding and remains under pressure while screeding takes place. This will reveal instantly if any pipes have been damaged and they can be repaired before the screed solidifies. Damage occurring to pipes is a very rare occurance as they are very resilient.
